  • Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

A bit disappointed in myself... I can blame working the night shift, lack of sleep, inexperience, just following the supposedly more experienced senior staff.....

but really, the responsibility still lies by me. I need to be more vigilant, keep thinking, keep questioning.. That's how I interpret Steve Job's "tag line".

Oh well, it's these lows that'll take me to the next step up...

  • Motivations, passions

Feeling a bit troubled by the fact that I'm losing passion for Scouts and also finding it hard to get motivated to go.

If I feel that way, how does that affect the quality of programs I think of for them? The more I think about it.. the less motivated I get to plan. It's really quite sad, cuz I think I still quite support the whole Scouting movement.

I think maybe I need to be able to come up with "why scouting".. for me first, and then propose what it could mean for the actual youths.

Sometimes it's just so troubling, cuz I can't identify with pre-teens or teens at all. I feel like I'm many many generations older than they are, and I can't find any common ground to identify with them on. What's worse. sometimes it's such a complete opposite of my personality and personal views that it's hard not to act all disciplinary. ugh

Just writing here to put down my thoughts so I could think some more.. no one reads this blog anyways. :p

  • such comforts....

I'm so glad to read these highly read comments from readers of the CBC, which I previously thought has quite a sturdy leftist readership....   Gives me hope that not all Canadians believe the coalition really *does* represent 52% or whatever majority they're claiming..

Typical Harper supporter; wants to silence any press that doesn't fawn on the right.
We are overload on right wing propaganda already with the right leaning Can West owning most of our media sources.
The right want to brain wash us all.
    disgusting and very undeomocratic.

    ..................................................................

    Sad
All Liberal debate is a rebuke or attack on someone else's comments.
Take their comments, and throw it back in their face with rhetoric. No ideas of their own.
The format is self serving and not worthy of mention or recognition.
It's not credible. How typically Liberal in tactic.
If they can't win a debate, they change the subject. Sad.

Which raises the question, is the left capable of any new ideas? Can they contribute in a positive way? Or must it all be negative?

Are the left working this very night on the budget with the Conservatives for the good of Canada, or planning their next partisan attack strategy?

I welcome comments from the left that offer new idea's and substance. Unlike those whom I differ with in policy and ideology, I respect good idea's when I hear them.

Have we all lost focus here?
Rhetoric aside, do we even know what separates the left from the right anymore?
I don't want leftist lies and spin. I want substance.
I don't think the left even knows what the truth is anymore. They have taken campaign sound bites at turned them into doctrine.

Please people, the politicians don't even believe half of what they say.

I couldn't agree more with what this commenter said..

One does not have to be a conservative or a Harper supporter to recognize that this coalition is a load of bullocks and simply politics at its worst perpetrated by two angry men - neither which will ever be PM (at least by a majority vote).

Question: Can destabilizing a country by working with a separatist party to take power be the tonic that the economy needs to get back on track and rebuild consumer confidence? I venture to guess that the answer would be No, and yet stimulating the economy is the premise of this coalition. I mean, does anyone really trust the NDP party with the economy? Hey Ontario remember the early 90's with Bob Rae, looks like everything that is old is new again, but this time in stereo - Jack Layton and Bob Rae. As a Canadian I am embarrassed by this fiasco.

Exactly.. I just have to say.. the only thing that the coalition agree on is that the proposed Conservative budget was bad, (agreed) and that they don't want the Tories in power, albeit minority government...  Why can't they all act like real opposition parties and offer some constructive critisims?

So again.. just makes the Liberals & NDPers seem like sore losers, as per last post.

"As a Liberal, I believe the first step for my party is to replace Stéphane Dion as leader with someone whose first job is to rebuild the Liberal party, rather than leading a coalition with the NDP," Manley said in an opinion piece in Saturday's Globe and Mail.

Thank you Mr. Manley for saying what a lot of people thinks... Dr. Dion.. it's time to rebuild your party, not trying to become our next PM.  Paul Martin's childhood dream was to become PM, and see how graciously he accepted his defeat, I hold him in high regard.. definitely not you, Mr. Dion...

  • Culture & Religion

Today I heard on the news that the Pope said (and I'm paraphrasing here) that all culture in the world stems from religion. My initial reaction was that it was a gross generalization to make...from a religious leader. But when I thought about it some more.. maybe that is pretty true.
